Kimberly Edwards is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been working in the social services field since 1991. She obtained her Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland in 1992. Kimberly is a part time clinician with Allied Behavioral Health and has significant experience working with families, children, and adolescents. She currently provides supportive counseling to all ages but primarily adolescents, young adults, and families.
Kimberly has worked in the public child welfare system in various capacities for over 20 years. She has experience in foster care and adoption, child abuse and neglect, stress/anxiety/depression, parent/child conflict, and infertility issues. She previously supervised the Child Advocacy Center as well as the Treatment Foster Care program in Cecil County, MD. Her therapeutic approach is cognitive-behavioral and embraces a strengths-based perspective. She believes in the therapeutic relationship as a tool for change and values self-awareness and positivity in her practice.
