Dr. Bisio has a long history of working in the mental health field in a variety of capacities. He has worked as a counselor in drug and alcohol programs, detox, and addictions programs. He has worked in inpatient facilities for adults and adolescents with mental health and addiction issues.
Dr. Bisio's treatment approach is client-directed. His goal is to help a client become more conscious and empowered by increasing their knowledge of themselves and their environment, thus enabling the client to define his or her own goals and to develop a pathway to achieve those goals.
He works with clients through a variety of psychotherapy methods such as experiential humanistic approaches that also includes structured cognitive-behavioral therapies. His approach with couples is strongly influenced by the work of Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. This approach combines the structure of cognitive-behavioral therapy with a deep understanding of human emotions and reactions found in attachment dynamics. This enables the creation of a powerful zone of safety in which the couple is able to achieve a reemergence of love and respect in a safe, gentle, and respectful manner.
Dr. Bisio is credentialed with most insurance and third party payers. He welcomes new clients in their quest for an improved and empowered life.
